Digital PCR and T. gondii among Salvadoran women at parturition

Banked whole blood and serum samples from Salvadoran women presenting for labor and delivery were screened for acute primary toxoplasmosis infection. Maternal-child health indicators were measured to determine associations. Digital PCR could provide a more sensitive method of detection for this hard-to-diagnose, vertically transmitted infection.
