Portion size effect in rats

This spreadsheet contains data from a series of experiments that tested the existence of a portion size effect in rats. The portion size effect has been widely replicated in humans but it is not known if it exists in animals. Understanding whether it does exist or not in animals will provide insight into the mechanisms that drive the effect in humans.The experiments were conducted at University of Leicester, UK ('mccutcheon_data.xls') and at Bucknell University ('myers_data.xls'). Data include results from five behavioral experiments which are described in detail in the paper that will accompany the dataset on Biorxiv and submitted for publication (Pinder et al, doi to follow).本电子表格收录了一系列检验大鼠是否存在分量大小效应（portion size effect）的实验数据。该效应已在人类群体中得到广泛重复验证，但目前尚不清楚动物是否同样存在该效应。明确该效应在动物中的存在与否，将有助于解析驱动人类产生该效应的内在机制。本实验分别在英国莱斯特大学（对应数据文件：mccutcheon_data.xls）与巴克内尔大学（对应数据文件：myers_data.xls）开展。本数据集包含五项行为学实验的结果，相关实验的详细说明将见于本数据集配套的预印本论文（已上传至BioRxiv并提交待刊，Pinder等人，DOI待补充）。
