PDB structures of 8,660 type II L-asparaginases from bacteria and archaea

This dataset contains predicted protein structures of 8,660 type II L-asparaginase (AII) sequences from bacteria and archaea. Structures were generated using AlphaFold2 v2.2.3 with the multimer setting enabled to model homotetrameric assemblies, reflecting the typical quaternary structure of functional L-asparaginases. These structural models were used to investigate the diversity and potential therapeutic relevance of type II L-asparaginases, including identification of enzymes with no detectable L-glutaminase activity. The dataset supports the findings of the publication:Janicki M. et al. A new bacterial L-asparaginase with no L-glutaminase activity: a promising candidate for leukemia therapy.
