资源简介:
- The dataset provides thermal cycles and cooling times (t8/5) during the electron beam welding (EBW) of high strength structural steels (HSSSs) such as S690QL, S960QL and S1300QL.
- The research shows that the beam oscillation and linear energy influence the cooling time (t8/5).
- The dataset includes experimentally measured thermal cycles and cooling times (t8/5) recorded using K-type thermocouples connected to an MGC Plus AB22A data acquisition system with Catman Easy V3.4.2 software.
- Experiments were performed in a high vacuum during EBW process under precisely controlled process parameters.
- Cooling times were measured in the 800 °C - 500 °C range during normal EBW and with beam oscillation process.
- -The results show that the cooling times with EBW are very short (1.24-2.24s), increases with linear energy and thermocouple distance, and modified by beam oscillation compared to normal EBW for different steel grades.
- The dataset facilitates validation of numerical and physical simulations, heat-affected zone (HAZ) modelling, and prediction of metallurgical transformations in high-strength steels.
- The data will benefit researchers, structural and welding engineers, modelling engineers and metallurgist working in the field of welding and joining of high-strength steels.
