Ecology of Carnobacterium maltaromaticum

Carnobacterium maltaromaticum is a generalist lactic acid bacterium frequently isolated from various animal-associated habitats. This species exhibits a high bioprotective potential as anti-Listeria monocygotenes agent thanks to exploitation and interference competition mechanisms. The interference competition network at the intraspecies level is dense and characterized by a nested structure. The aim of the genomics project is to better understand C. maltaromaticum ecology with a focus on competition interactions.
