In this study, we infused siRNA directed against the Setd6 methyltransferase (or scrambled, non-targeting controls) to the rat hippocampus (CA1) prior to context fear conditioning. One hour after training, we sub-dissected areas CA1, extracted their RNA, and sequenced these sample to determine changes in gene expression during memory consolidation following knockdown of Setd6.
