Towards autonomous public transportation: Attitudes and intentions of the local population

A stated preference survey has been employed, in order to better understand customers’ sentiments and willingness to use driverless buses. We designed the survey to give insights into the perceptions and expectations of inhabitants of a medium sized town in Germany’s Lower Rhine Region, which is on the brink of establishing an autonomous bus line. Like most survey studies on AV acceptance, we rely on a convenience sample. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the questionnaire was administered online only. In total, 435 people participated. 本研究采用陈述性偏好调查（stated preference survey）方法，以深入探析民众对无人驾驶巴士的使用意愿与情感态度。本次调查的设计目标，是为了洞察德国下莱茵地区一座即将开通自动驾驶巴士线路的中型城镇居民对该服务的认知与期待。与多数自动驾驶汽车（autonomous vehicle, AV）接受度相关的调查研究类似，本研究采用便利抽样方法。受新冠疫情（COVID-19 Pandemic）影响，本次调查问卷仅以线上形式发放。最终共有435名受访者参与本次研究。随附材料包含本次调查问卷、编码手册（codebook）与原始数据集。
