The purpose of the dataset C. elegans terminal bulb aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of the pharynx terminal bulb (part of the eating apparatus). Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 2 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.本数据集为秀丽隐杆线虫（C. elegans）咽终端球衰老数据集，其研究目标是通过咽部终端球（pharynx terminal bulb，进食器官的组成部分）的图像来推断线虫的年龄。该数据集采集了不同实足日龄的秀丽隐杆线虫图像，本次展示的图像属于第2天数据集的一部分。需注意，即便个体为遗传背景完全一致的秀丽隐杆线虫，由于个体间存在表型差异，其形态学年龄与实足日龄并不完全相关。本数据集的来源为美国国立衰老研究所（NIA）/美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）遗传学实验室。
