Repetitive DNA analysis of allopolyploid species

The goal of this work was to understand repeat dynamics in allopolyploids relative to their progenitor species. For this, genome skimming data was obtained (via Illumina sequencing technology) and the RepeatExplorer pipeline was used to cluster sequences into repetitive DNA families. A comparative analysis was performed to estimate differences in repetitive DNA content among all species.
