Replication Package - Adoption of Micro-Frontends in Industrial Practice

This repository contains the replication package for a study investigating the adoption of micro-frontends in industrial practice. The study examines factors influencing the adoption of micro-frontends, including perceived drivers, encountered challenges, and the strategies, practices, and impacts associated with migrating monolithic applications. Data were collected through a structured survey targeting Web developers with experience in micro-frontend architectures. The package includes the following artifacts: Survey questionnaire.pdf – The complete questionnaire used to collect data on developers’ experiences with micro-frontend adoption. thematic-evidence.csv – Qualitative responses provided by participants, annotated with the corresponding themes. themes.csv – The set of themes derived from the thematic analysis of qualitative data. unified-database.csv – Cleaned and fully anonymized survey responses. Migration process.pdf – A description of the activities, artifacts, and competencies identified from the survey results, outlining a migration process to micro-frontends. All personally identifiable information has been removed to preserve participant confidentiality and ensure compliance with ethical research standards. These materials are provided to support transparency, replicability, and secondary analysis. During the peer-review process, this repository is anonymized. Upon publication, it will be updated with complete bibliographic information and author details.
