The plastid genome is an ideal tool to explore the origin and evolution dynamics of plant species.In the present study, we constructed a large dataset of 1445 complete plastomes of common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon) and Asian cultivated rice (Oryza sativa) via de novo assembly to reconstruct the phylogenetic and biogeographic relationships between different subpopulations in the two species during their evolution progress.
