Supplemental Table 1. Homologues of Homo sapiens BIN1. These were identified using BLAST searches of the NCBI protein database. Information on the homologues found include taxonomic data; their length in amino acid residues; their expected probability of relatedness to the query sequence (E-value); and their % identity and % cover with the query sequence. The sequence from Loxodonta africana (African Elephant) is highlighted because it is distinct from the other mammalian BIN1 homologues shown; this sequence also groups with an elasmobranch rather than with other animals in the phylogenetic analyses, Fig. 2
