To reveal the mechanisms by which those multiple factors/processes determine the assembly of mycorrhizal and endophytic fungal communities, we collected 1,615 root-tip and 124 background soil samples in a cool-temperate forest dominated by ectomycorrhizal plants, and reveal these host plant and root-associated fungal community structure based on high-throuput sequencing.
