VPRS 17401 Students' Extern Cases Record Book, Midwifery Department

This volume records the allocation of midwifery cases to the medical students who delivered the womens' babies in their own homes. Clinical details and description of the cases are very limited, unlike the often very descriptive notes in the Extern Case Books (located in VPRS 17389 Extern Case Book, Midwifery Department).Information recorded in columns includes, date, student's name, departure and return time, nurse's name, patient's name and address.This is the only surviving volume from this series, the full extent of which is unknown.Series HistoryThis was originally included in the Extern Case Book series (RWH 0348) but closer examination shows it to be a more of a register of the externs' cases rather than a case book.
