This dataset contains the supplementary materials and detailed calculation tables for the research article, "Systematic design and optimised material selection for sustainable and efficient solar water heater flat-plate collectors". The data supports a systematic material selection framework that integrates Ashby's method, multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA), and life cycle assessment (LCA) to evaluate 4,249 materials based on thermal, mechanical, and economic criteria. This dataset specifically documents the final stage of this framework: the comprehensive MCDA process used to rank the 57 shortlisted candidate materials for the solar collector material.
