Sotalol: cardiovascular effects in conscious, telemetered guinea pigs.

Guinea pig (Dunkin-Hartley), conscious, using telemetry. N=4 males dosed with sotalol at 3, 10 and 30 mg/kg, dosed following a latin square cross-over regimen. No PK phase. Parameters: mean, systolic, diastolic and pulse blood pressure - mmHg, Heart rate - beats/min, Duration of PR and QT intervals, and QRS complex, Duration of QT corrected for heart rate (QTc), Duration of QA interval - msec, Body temperature - ?C, Locomotor activity - Units/min.Parameters were recorded before administration then at 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12 and 24 hours after dosing. A baseline value (pre-dose) was taken approximately 0.5 hour before dosing before each dosing session.
