The purpose of the dataset C. elegans terminal bulb aging is to deduce the age of the nemathode based on images of the pharynx terminal bulb (part of the eating apparatus). Images of C. elegans were taken at different chronological ages. This image is part of the day 0 data set. Note that the morphological and chronological ages are not fully correlated due to the variability among individuals even though the individuals are genetically identical. The source for the dataset is Laboratory of Genetics/NIA/NIH.本数据集为秀丽隐杆线虫（C. elegans）咽终端球衰老数据集，其核心目标为基于咽终端球（pharynx terminal bulb，属于进食器官的一部分）的图像推断线虫的实际年龄。研究人员采集了不同实际日龄的秀丽隐杆线虫图像以构建该数据集。本次展示的图像隶属于0日龄数据集。需注意，即便个体为遗传同源个体，由于个体间存在异质性，其形态学年龄与实际日龄并非完全相关。本数据集的来源为美国国家衰老研究所（NIA）与美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）的遗传学实验室。
