Arthrobacter sp. D5-1.Atrazine-degrading bacterium.Arthrobacter sp. D5-1 was isolate from soil of cogon grass at Shandong, China and is able to use atrazine as a sole source of nitrogen. The root-colonizing Arthrobacter sp. D5-1 displays atrazine degradation and remarkable motility ability making it a good candidate for bioremediation. The genome sequence of this organism will help elucidate the genes involved in the bioremediation of atrazine compounds and motility mechanisms.
