An objective of the present disclosure is to provide a method for producing recycled pulp fibers that have a low hemicellulose content and are useful for various applications. The present disclosure comprises the following feature. A method for producing recycled pulp fibers from pulp fibers to be processed， the method being characterized by comprising a recycled pulp fiber formation step wherein an ozone-containing gas is fed into a processing tank containing a processing liquid that contains pulp-fiber-containing matter containing pulp fibers to be processed， thereby forming the abovementioned recycled pulp fibers， which have a hemicellulose content of less than 8.0 mass%， from the pulp fibers to be processed.
