Eriocheir sinensis Transcriptome or Gene expression

The Chinese mitten crab, Eriocheir sinensis is is a medium-sized burrowing crab, it is native in the coastal estuaries of eastern Asia. Mitten crabs spend most of their life in fresh water, but they must return to the sea to breed. The testis is a highly specialized tissue that plays dual roles in ensuring fertility by producing spermatozoa and hormones. The gene expression pattern of testis in Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) has not been extensively studied, and limited genetic research has been performed on this species. Using Illumina sequencing, we are able to get abundant EST data from the testis organism for the de novo transcriptome analysis.中华绒螯蟹（Eriocheir sinensis）是一种中等体型的穴居蟹类，原生分布于东亚沿海河口区域。该物种的大部分生命周期均在淡水环境中度过，但必须洄游至海洋以完成繁殖。精巢是一类高度特化的组织，可通过产生精子与激素的双重作用保障繁殖能力。目前针对中华绒螯蟹精巢的基因表达模式尚未得到深入研究，该物种的遗传学研究整体也较为有限。本研究通过Illumina测序技术，从该蟹的精巢组织中获取了大量表达序列标签（Expressed Sequence Tag，EST）数据，用于开展从头转录组分析。
