Campylobacter jejuni subsp. jejuni H22082. Campylobacter jejuni subsp. jejuni H22082 was isolated in August 2005 from human faecal material from a case of campylobacteriosis in Palmerston North, NZ. Campylobacter jejuni subsp. jejuni is one of the most common causes for gastroenteritis worldwide, with New Zealand having a very high rate of the disease compared to other developed nations. This isolate is of a rare MLST strain type, found almost exclusively in NZ and estimated to be responsible for nearly 25-30% of human cases of campylobacteriosis in that country.
