Gut Microbiota Modulation Induced by Zika Virus Infection. Mus musculus strain:C57/BL6

Gut microbiota composition can modulate several function in the body, including cellular and immunological response against different pathogens. However, pathogens and infections can also modulate the gut microbiota, including viruses. We investigated modifications induced by ZIKV infection in the gut microbiome of immunocompetent C57BL/6J that was analysed by next-generation sequencing of the V4 hypervariable regions present in bacterial 16S rDNA gene.Our data demonstrate that ZIKV infection can impact gut microbiota composition and colon tissue homeostasis in immunocompetent mice.
肠道菌群(gut microbiota)的组成可调控机体多项生理功能,包括针对不同病原体的细胞反应与免疫应答。然而,病原体及其引发的感染同样可反向调控肠道菌群,病毒感染亦不例外。本研究以免疫健全C57BL/6J小鼠为研究对象,通过对细菌16S rDNA基因的V4高变区进行下一代测序(next-generation sequencing)分析,探究了寨卡病毒(ZIKV)感染诱导的肠道微生物组(gut microbiome)变化。研究数据证实,寨卡病毒感染可对免疫健全小鼠的肠道菌群组成与结肠组织稳态产生影响。
