Survey of the seal population in the Wadden Sea of Lower Saxony 2022. The seal population in the Wadden Sea of Lower Saxony is determined annually. Counting flights are carried out in the summer months (May - September). During these months, the birth, rearing of the young and hair changes take place in the seals. The counts are made at low water. At this time, the seals rest on the dry berths. The counts are coordinated trilaterally via the 'Seal Management Plan'. The data are part of the Trilateral Monitoring and Assessment Program (TMAP). Monitoring of Common seals in the Wadden Sea of Lower Saxony 2022. The common seal population in the Wadden Sea of Lower Saxony is annually determined by aerial surveys at low tides during the summer months (May - September). In this period whelping, nursing and moulting of the seals take place.
