Cinema market share of domestic and foreign movies in China 2015-2023

In 2023, approximately 85 percent of the movies shown in China were produced domestically. The 78 foreign movies presented in cinemas contributed about 16 percent of China's total box office revenue, which was one of the lowest points in the past few years.
