This data set contains the responses to the post-experiment questionnaire (see file "Post-experiment questionnaire" for the questions).

Each column represents either a question or a sub-question. The questionnaire had 8 different questions, and each column's first character indicates the question to which that column pertains. For example, column "1_1_hdb" would pertain to question 1, while column "2_1_people" would pertain to question 2, etc. Below is a description of each set of columns.

1. Most influential features (columns 1_1 - 1_9)
These columns contain numbers ranging from 1-9, representing responses to item 1 in the questionnaire. In this question, participants were asked to rank, in order of significance, which environmental features they believed most influenced their ratings. The answer 1 would mean that that feature had the greatest impact on rating, while 9 would indicate that a feature is the least influential. In the data, there is a column for each of the features that were included in the ranking. The numbers under each column represent the rank given by each participant. Since one of the features that participants could rank was "other", including a blank line for participants to write on, the data also includes a text column "1_9_other_content" containing the text that some participants wrote in that field.

2. Manipulations noticed (columns 2_1 - 2_3)
These columns contain numbers 0 or 1, representing responses to the question of whether participants noticed changes to the features in the experiment (number of people present, building height, facade quality). Each of these features has its own column. A 0 indicates that participants did not notice the change, while a 1 indicates that they did.

3. Presence questionnaire and experience of the experiment (columns 3_1 - 3_8)
Columns 3_1 - 3_6 contain responses to the presence questionnaire, where participants were asked to evaluate presence-related statements on a scale from 1-7.

Columns 3_7 - 3_8 contain responses to two statements relating to nausea, which participants were asked to rate on a scale from 1-7.

4. Experience of HDBs
Columns 4_1 - 4_3 contain responses to questions on participants' past experiences of living in HDBs.

Column 4_1 contains values 0 and 1, representing no experience of living in HDBs (0) and having experience of living in an HDB (1).

Column 4_2 contains numbers from 1 onwards, representing the number of years that a participant has lived in an HDB.

Column 4_3 contains values 1-4, representing the height of the HDB where participants lived, as follows.
1 - <5 stories.
2 - 5-10 stories
3 - 11-16 stories
4 - >16 stories

5. Experience of high-rise environments (columns 5_1-5_2)
These columns contain information on whether participants had lived or worked in high-rise environments.

Column 5_1 contains values 0 or 1, representing no experience of high-rise environments (0) or experience of of high-rise environments (1).

Column 5_2 contains values 1-4, representing the amount of time participants had experienced a high-rise environment, as follows:
1 - 1 year
2 - 2-5 years
3 - 6-10 years
4 - >10 years

6. Age (column 6)
The values in this column indicate the age of each participant in years.

7. Gender (column 7)
The values in this column indicate the gender of participants. The value 0 represents male, while the value 1 represents female.

8. Experience in architecture or urban design (columns starting with 8)
The values in these columns indicate participants' level of experience in architecture and urban design / planning.

Values in the column "8_arch_exp" range from 0 to 3, with 0 indicating no experience in architecture/urban design, 1 indicating recreational interest, 2 indicating formal study, and 3 indicating professional experience.

Values in the column "8_arch_y" indicate participants' professional experience (in years) in architecture.

Values in the column "8_urb_y" indicate participants' professional experience (in years) in urban design

(Housing and Development Board)

1 - 低于5层;
2 - 5至10层;
3 - 11至16层;

1 - 1年;
2 - 2至5年;
3 - 6至10年;
