Comparative gene expression in response to various inflammatory stimuli in vitro: infection-mediated versus systemic inflamamtion

To unedrstand the global gene expression profile depending upon origin of inflammation, we have employed microarray analysis in vitro. We have treated THP-1 macrophage like cells with TNFα, IL-6 to mimic inflammatory milieu similar to systemic inflammation while bacterial LPS treatment represented for infectious inflammation.
