MGREGA RURAL EMPLOYMENT GENERATION PROGRAMME-A REVIEW

MGNREGAis one of the flagship poverty alleviation programme of the government and has been taken very well across the country. It is a symbol of the government’s seriousness in achieving the goals mentioned in the directive principles of state policy. It is one of the most important legislation which has made demand for and getting it a matter of right. It has checked the migratory tendencies from the villages to the cities thereby easing pressure on the urban infrastructure. It has been successful in checking intra-state migration and has helped in realizing the goal of balanced regional development. It has given the subsistence to those teeming millions who were otherwise in perils for want of job or work to meet their both ends. It provides an alternative source of livelihood which will have an impact on restricting child labour and making villages self sustaining through productive assists creation like road construction, cleaning up of water tanks, soil and water conservation work, construction of lanes, drains.圣雄甘地国家农村就业保障法（MGNREGA）是印度政府核心扶贫项目之一，在全国范围内推行成效显著。该法案彰显了政府落实国家政策指导原则中既定目标的郑重决心。它是最为关键的立法举措之一，将就业诉求的提出与就业机会的获取确立为一项法定权利。该法案有效遏制了农村向城市的人口流动趋势，由此缓解了城市基础设施的承载压力。其不仅成功抑制了邦内人口迁移，更助力达成区域均衡发展的目标。该项目为数以千万计原本因缺乏就业机会、难以维持生计而陷入生存困境的民众提供了基本生活保障。它提供了替代性生计来源，不仅有助于遏制童工现象，还可通过道路修建、蓄水池清淤、水土保持工程、街巷铺设及沟渠开挖等生产性资产创建工作，推动村庄实现自我可持续发展。
