Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme

This layer presents estimation of the mean annual blue water footprint of national production for the period 1996-2005. The water footprint is a measure of human’s appropriation of freshwater resources. The blue water footprint refers to consumption of blue water resources (surface and ground water).Estimations are given in million cubic meter per year (MCM/year).
