Antarctic Human Microbiome Dataset: Participant-Level Records from Seven Studies (2014–2024)

This dataset contains participant-level records (n = 94) corresponding to 82 unique individuals from seven studies conducted in Antarctic isolated, confined, and extreme (ICE) environments between 2014 and 2024. Variables include age, expedition setting (station, field camp, or ship), season, expedition duration, physical activity, microbiota sampling site (gut, skin, or oral), and microbiome alteration status. The dataset was curated as part of a systematic review and meta-regression assessing microbiome adaptation to Antarctic ICE conditions. Data are anonymized, standardized, and accompanied by a README file describing all variables and coding.
