One important issue in the commercial production of the cellulosic ethanol (2nd gen. bio-ethanol) is the effect of fermentation inhibitory compounds derived from the pre-treated biomass on xylose-utilizaing yeast. The purpose of this project is to introduce spontaneous mutations into the genome and to establish xylose-utilizing yeast strains with tolerance to any fermentation inhibitory compounds and is to clarify the responsible gene mutations through comparative whole genome analyses of strains which acquired these tolerance.
纤维素乙醇(cellulosic ethanol,即第二代生物乙醇)商业化生产中的一项核心问题,是预处理生物质衍生的发酵抑制性化合物对木糖利用酵母的影响。本项目旨在通过向基因组中引入自发突变,构建具备广谱发酵抑制物耐受性的木糖利用酵母菌株,并通过对获得该耐受性的菌株开展全基因组比较分析,明确其耐受相关的基因突变。
