Opinions on smoking in public places in Italy 2020

In a survey from 2020, 78 percent of non-smokers in Italy agreed with banning smoking at bus, tram, or metro stops. Additionally, 74 percent of respondents who did not smoke considered the ban in other public spaces in the city a good idea. At the beginning of 2020, the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sale, stated that from March onwards smoking will be forbidden at bus and tram stops in the city.
