Data for: Information Communication Technology development and energy demand in African countries

The data are used in the paper entitled “Information Communication Technology development and energy demand in African countries” (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.energy.2019.116192). The data concern 28 African countries for the period 1971-2014. The data on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita (constant 2010 US$), electric power consumption (kWh per capita), energy use (kg of oil equivalent per capita), the number of individuals using the Internet (% of population) and the mobile cellular subscriptions per 100 people are extracted from the World Bank’s World Development Indicators.
