Directed Metalation Cascade To Access Highly Functionalized Thieno[2,3‑<i>f</i>]benzofuran and Exploration as Building Blocks for Organic Electronics

A tandem directed metalation has been successfully applied to the preparation of thieno[2,3-f]benzofuran-4,8-dione, providing an efficient and facile approach to symmetrically and unsymmetrically functionalize the thieno[2,3-f]benzofuran core at the 2,6 positions as well as to introduce the electron-withdrawing or -donating groups (EWG or EDG) at its 4,8 positions. The presence of various functional groups makes late-stage derivatization attainable.本研究成功将串联导向金属化（tandem directed metalation）策略应用于噻吩并[2,3-f]苯并呋喃-4,8-二酮的制备，为在噻吩并[2,3-f]苯并呋喃母核的2、6位实现对称与不对称功能化，以及在其4、8位引入吸电子基团（EWG）或给电子基团（EDG）提供了高效简便的途径。多种官能团的引入使得后期衍生化成为可能。
