Study on relationship between genomic trait-based strategies and CO2 emissions in forest soils

Here, the study was conducted in ten forests ecosystems along the latitudinal transect in China. We use the shotgun metagenomic sequencing to obtain sufficient DNA data and functions of microorganism. Using the real-time PCR of the 16S rRNA and fungal ITS-1 genes to access the microbial taxonomy abundance. This study examined the cumulative CO2 emissions, and their relationships with soil properties, microbial communities, microbial life-history traits, and functional genes.
本研究沿中国纬度样带选取了10个森林生态系统开展实验。我们采用鸟枪宏基因组测序(shotgun metagenomic sequencing)获取足量的微生物DNA数据与功能信息;通过针对16S核糖体RNA(16S rRNA)与真菌ITS-1基因的实时荧光定量PCR(real-time PCR)技术,测定微生物的分类学丰度。本研究分析了累积二氧化碳排放(CO2 emissions),并探究其与土壤理化性质、微生物群落、微生物生活史特征及功能基因之间的关联关系。
