Brazil: bribery victimization rate 2023

Brazilian people who participated in a survey conducted in 2023 were asked if they had to pay a bribe in different interactions with public authorities (police officers and/or government employees). The share of respondents -almost five percent - who claimed to be victims of bribery in Brazil by police officers was significantly higher that year than by government employees.
