Caballeronia symbionts of caged Leptoglossus zonatus

The leaf-footed bug, Leptoglossus zonatus, depends upon early nymphal ingestion of the free-living, soilborne bacterium Caballeronia for growth and reproduction. We tested the hypothesis that Caballeronia is ubiquitous in the canopy environment by caging young nymphs on pomegranate trees in 2019 and 2020. We characterized and compared the symbiont composition of caged nymphs which were left to forage for the symbiont across these two years.叶足蝽（Leptoglossus zonatus）的生长与繁殖依赖若虫早期取食自由生活的土传细菌卡瓦勒邦菌（Caballeronia）。本研究于2019年与2020年将幼龄若虫笼养于石榴树上，以此验证"卡瓦勒邦菌在冠层环境中广泛存在"这一假说，并对这两年间可自行觅食获取共生菌的笼养若虫的共生菌组成进行解析与比较。
