Study on community of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the Fukiage Gyoen Forest

The community of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi was examined in a forest of the Fukiage Gyoen National Garden (Fukiage Gyoen forest) at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan. The AM fungal community in the forest was clearly distinguished from those of the Japanese temperate forests studied previously. Some of the dominant AM fungi in the Fukiage Gyoen forest were species-described fungi, which contrasts with those in the Japanese temperate forests. Since AM fungal species have been described based on spore morphology, the present result suggests that the dominant AM fungi in the Fukiage Gyoen forest may have relatively higher spore productivity.

本研究针对日本东京皇居吹上御苑林中的丛枝菌根（arbuscular mycorrhizal, AM）真菌群落展开调查。该林分内的AM真菌群落，显著区别于此前已被研究的日本温带森林内的AM真菌群落。吹上御苑林中的部分优势AM真菌为已正式描述的物种，这与日本温带森林内的优势类群形成鲜明反差。鉴于AM真菌物种多基于孢子形态特征进行界定，本研究结果提示，吹上御苑林中的优势AM真菌或许具备相对更高的孢子生产力。
