This phenomenological case study examines faculty hiring processes at Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs) and the extent to which an HSI consciousness is present in their decision-making. The primary data consisted of 17 participant interviews at two HSIs both in the U.S. southwest (one along the U.S.-Mexico border and the other in a densely populated metropolitan area).
