Nickel-molybdenum alloy electrodeposited on nickel substrates for optimized hydrogen evolution reaction in acidic electrolytes

The successful preparation of composite catalysts with coexisting structures of crystalline nickel-molybdenum alloy and molybdenum dioxide on nickel lattice was achieved by employing electrodeposition, annealing and electrochemical activation methods. The catalysts exhibited excellent hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance in acidic medium due to the synergistic effect of Ni3Mo alloy and MoO2
