Bin2 mutated frequently in diverse human cancers including ovarian cancer. Interestingly, we primarily showed that expression of these conserved mutants in diverse normal cell lines could up-regulate mTOR activity. Thus, it might be a novel mTOR-involved gene essential for not only tumorigenesis but also fertility.
