A General Economic Analysis of Local Services Offered by the Private as Well as the Public Sector, 1993

The purpose of this study was to analyze various issues related to socio-economic effects in a "local" market for daycare services. The project aimed at mapping cost and conditions in a variety nurseries enabling analysis of costs' dependency on school, qualitative characteristics, ownership / incentive structure and characteristics of the children. We also wanted to survey "willingness to pay" (WTP) and characteristics of families and children that facilitate analysis of WTP variation with these characteristics and characteristics of the daycare used.
