Urban Service Disparities in the Smart City Era

Urban sustainability is increasingly tied to the equitable distribution of basic services like public transit and energy. While smart city frameworks promise efficiency and technological advancement, many regions continue to face socio-economic disparities in access to essential infrastructure. This study utilizes a multi-dimensional, data-driven approach to evaluate service equity across 100 global regions using publicly available datasets. Tools such as Python, MySQL, Excel, and Tableau are used for data integration, analysis, and visualization. The findings reveal that lower-income populations often suffer from limited transit accessibility and reduced electricity coverage, especially in rural areas. These insights can support smart city strategies focused on inclusion and sustainability.城市可持续发展愈发与公共交通、能源等基础服务的公平分配紧密挂钩。尽管智慧城市框架承诺提升效率与技术革新，但诸多地区在获取关键基础设施方面仍持续面临社会经济层面的不平等问题。本研究采用多维度数据驱动的方法，依托公开数据集对全球100个地区的服务公平性展开评估。本研究借助Python、MySQL、Excel及Tableau等工具完成数据集成、分析与可视化工作。研究结果显示，低收入群体往往面临交通可达性不足、电力覆盖范围缩减的困境，在农村地区这一问题尤为突出。上述研究结论可为聚焦包容性与可持续性的智慧城市战略提供支撑。
