The gut is populated by trillions of microbial cells, mainly bacteria that, by symbiotic in-teraction with their host, play important roles in human health. Gut dysbiosis might con-tribute to carcinogenesis by inducing aberrant intestinal immune activation, local and systemic inflammation. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignancies in the western world and gut dysbiosis and obesity are among the risk factors for its pathogenesis.
