As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the motivation among higher education students in Denmark fell between 2018 and 2021. In March 2018, more than three in four university students were motivated to a large or very large extent. By 2021, this had fallen below 60 percent of the respondents. Moreover, the share of students who felt lonely increased during the pandemic.
