Madonna and child

The Madonna and Child is a very frequent theme in Christian art. However, in the 13-14th century the representation changes and more tenderness appears between the mother and her child. In this very refined relief from the end of the 15th century, the technique of sculpting as well as the rule of proportions enables the Ferrucci to make the relationship between the Virgin and her child visible to the spectator.
