Analysis of Anadenanthera colubrina seed endophytes by pyrosequencing of bacterial 16S RNA genes

In this work, we aimed to investigate the bacterial microbiota of the Anadenanthera colubrina seed, with special focus to the seed endophytes. Methylobacterium and Staphylococcus spp. were detected from total seed metagenomic DNA, together with further taxa, some of which appeared for the first time as seed endophytes. Our work adds new information to shed light onto the diversity and complexity of the seed endophytic microbiome.本研究旨在探究阔荚扁轴木（Anadenanthera colubrina）种子的细菌菌群，重点聚焦于种子内生菌（endophytes）。从该种子的总宏基因组DNA（metagenomic DNA）中，研究团队检测到甲基杆菌属（Methylobacterium）与葡萄球菌属（Staphylococcus）多个菌种，并检出其余分类类群，其中部分类群为首次被报道的种子内生菌。本研究为阐明种子内生微生物组（microbiome）的多样性与复杂性提供了新的科学依据。
