Plasmodium falciparum apical membrane antigen-1(PfAMA-1) is one of the leading malaria vaccine candidates which mainly for blood stage. However, genetic variation and antigenic diversity identified in global PfAMA-1 are major obstacles in the development of an effective vaccine based on this antigen, especially on the domain I(DI) of PfAMA-1. In this study, genetic diversity and the effect of natural selection of DI of PfAMA-1 among Bioko island P. falciparum isolates were analysed.

恶性疟原虫顶膜抗原1(Plasmodium falciparum apical membrane antigen-1,PfAMA-1)是主流的疟疾红内期疫苗候选抗原之一。然而,全球范围内已在PfAMA-1中鉴定出的遗传变异与抗原多样性,是基于该抗原开发有效疫苗的主要障碍,尤其针对PfAMA-1的结构域I(domain I,DI)。本研究针对比奥科岛的恶性疟原虫分离株,分析了其PfAMA-1结构域I的遗传多样性以及自然选择的作用效应。
