Genomic characteristics of Burkholderia pseudomallei endemic to soil and human in Taiwan. Burkholderia pseudomallei strain:vgh07

B. pseudomallei vgh07 (ST58) is an epidemic strain among melioidosis patients in Taiwan. B. pseudomallei vgh19 isolated from melioidosis patients were genetically identical ST1001, which type is commonly seen in soils in Taiwan. Given an assumption, genomic islands in clinical isolates can be differentiated from that in environmental isolates. Both whole genomes were sequenced and compared in this project.

类鼻疽伯克霍尔德菌（B. pseudomallei）vgh07（序列型ST58）是台湾地区类鼻疽患者的流行菌株。从类鼻疽患者体内分离得到的类鼻疽伯克霍尔德菌vgh19，其序列型为ST1001，该型别在台湾的土壤环境中较为常见。本研究设定如下假设：临床分离株中的基因组岛可与环境分离株的基因组岛加以区分。本项目对两株菌株的全基因组进行了测序并开展比较分析。
