Worldwide distribution of continental rock lithology

Global map of the main rock types exposed on the continental areas (present day).
This map has been constructed and digitized from synthetic lithological and soil maps published by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO-UNESCO) for each continent, and from additional other sources. The resolution is one by one degree. Six different rock types are distinguished: sands and sandstones, carbonate rocks, shales, plutonic and metamorphic rocks, acid volcanic rocks, basalts.

现今大陆出露主要岩石类型全球分布图。本数据集依托联合国粮食及农业组织（Food and Agriculture Organization，FAO）与联合国教科文组织（UNESCO）针对各大陆发布的合成岩性与土壤图，并结合其他补充数据源制作并数字化而成。其空间分辨率为1×1度，共区分6类岩石：砂与砂岩、碳酸盐岩、页岩、侵入岩与变质岩、酸性火山岩以及玄武岩。
