Alveolar echinococcosis (AE) is a zoonosis caused by the metacestode of Echinococcus multilocularis. Draft genome analysis of E. multilocularis showed that approximately 86% of its genome is non-coding. Micro RNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding regulatory RNAs, and recent studies on parasitic helminths seek miRNAs as a new target for drug development and diagnostic markers. This study was designed to characterize miRNA profiles in E. multilocularis Nemuro strain using mice perorally infected with the parasite eggs via small RNA-seq.
泡型棘球蚴病(Alveolar echinococcosis, AE)是由多房棘球绦虫的中绦期幼虫引发的人畜共患病。针对多房棘球绦虫的基因组草图分析结果显示,其基因组中约86%为非编码序列。微小核糖核酸(Micro RNAs, miRNAs)是一类小型非编码调控RNA,当前寄生性蠕虫领域的相关研究正将miRNAs作为药物研发与诊断标志物的新兴靶点。本研究采用小RNA测序(small RNA-seq)技术,以经口感染多房棘球绦虫虫卵的小鼠为实验模型,对多房棘球绦虫根室菌株的miRNA表达谱进行特征分析。
